TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

A Tigard vacuum salesman who scammed people out of millions will spend more than a decade in prison.

A judge sentenced Johnny "Mickey" Brown to 10 years and eight months on Wednesday.

Brown was convicted in May on charges of wire fraud, false statement to a financial institution and tax evasion.

Brown, who worked for Kirby Co., convinced about 140 people to hand over their credit cards for business ventures. In return, he promised to pay their minimum monthly balance.

Investigators said Brown took his victims for about $6 million before his bank account was frozen.
