PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A woman who was waiting for a bus after a party was hit and critically injured by a driver who had been at the same party earlier in the night, officers say.

Erica Knoy, 20, and her boyfriend, 18-year-old Shawn Miller, drank alcohol at the Thursday night get-together and then went to McDonalds at North Lombard Street and Ida Avenue. Afterward, the pair walked to a nearby bus shelter.

At about 8:15 p.m., Knoy walked into the street to see if the bus was coming and was hit by 24-year-old DeShawn Redeau.

Redeau stopped and cooperated with the investigation. He was not impaired at the time, police say, and was not cited.

Miller ran from the scene before officers arrived but was found shortly after, police say.

He told authorities that he had a no-contact order with Knoy and wasn't allowed to be around her. He was booked into jail.

Anyone with additional information about the crash is asked to call Officer Chris Johnson at 503-823-2213.
