EUGENE, OR (KPTV) -
Police in Eugene are asking for information that will lead them to the man who robbed a Home Federal Bank this morning and sent three schools into lockdown.
Police said the robbery happened just before 11 a.m. when the suspect walked into the bank on Cal Young Road and demanded cash. He got away with the cash, but police are not saying how much.
Police rushed to the area and brought in a K9 unit to search for the suspect. Because the area is home to three schools, authorities decided to lock them down during the hour search. The schools affected were Sheldon High School, Monroe Middle School and St. Paul Parish School.
Police said the suspect is a black man in his 20s or early 30s, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build and weighs approximately 180 lbs. He has brown eyes and is bald with freckles or moles on his face. At the time of the robbery he was seen wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt with the hood up, a black scarf covering the bottom portion of his face and black pants. However police said the robber did not show or even reference any weapons.
Anyone who may have information into this case is asked to contact either the Eugene Police Department at 541-682-8888 or the Federal Bureau of Investigations at 541-434-5222.
