PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
If you've been waiting for a cheaper version of the Portland Timbers' retro-inspired white jersey to go on sale, you're in luck.
The team's third uniform design for the 2012 season is now available as a replica at the adidas Timbers Team Store at JELD-WEN Field and online at shop.portlandtimbers.com.
The third kit will be worn for select matches during the upcoming
season; the Timbers will continue to feature their green primary jerseys
and Rose City Red secondary kits in 2012.
When the jerseys were unveiled last month, Timbers owner Merritt Paulson said they served as a tribute to the club's history in Portland.
"One of the greatest strengths of the Timbers is the rich history of the club," he said. "With this third kit, we are paying homage to the teams and players that inspired our city to become Soccer City, USA."
The adidas Timbers Team Store is located at JELD-WEN Field and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Portland's first MLS match of 2012 will take place at JELD-WEN Field March 12 against the Philadelphia Union.
