PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A sprinkler system extinguished a fire that appears to have been intentionally set inside a former Black Angus location in the Oak Grove community in Clackamas County, investigators said.

According to the Clackamas County Fire Department, the fire broke out at about 2:19 p.m. at Tuesday afternoon at 16323 SE McLoughlin Blvd. The building had been vacant for nearly a year, investigators said.

Clackamas Fire crews said the building was filled with smoke when they arrived and several sprinkler heads were spraying water.  Firefighters credited the sprinkler system with keeping the damage to a minimum.

Firefighters also noticed that the fire appeared to have been set intentionally in multiple locations, and are now working with Clackamas County sheriff's deputies to investigate.

Anyone with information regarding this fire is asked to call the Clackamas County Sheriff's Tip Line at 503-723-4949.
