PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The windows of nearly 100 cars were shot out overnight in parts of Lake Oswego and southwest Portland.

Lake Oswego police say someone armed with a BB or pellet gun shot the windows on 31 cars between 11 p.m. Thursday and 1 a.m. Friday, mostly in the parking lots of 1 Jefferson Parkway and 2 Jefferson Parkway in Mountain Park.

Once Lake Oswego officers responded, they discovered 26 cars damaged in the two apartment complex parking lots. Soon, they found five more cars damaged in the same fashion on Kingsgate Road.

Also on Friday, Portland police reported that 30 to 50 cars in southwest Portland had windows shot out overnight in the area of Southwest Sixth Avenue and Terwilliger Boulevard. Ten more cars were also vandalized near Southwest 45th Avenue and Vermont Street, police say.

Tim O'Connor, a southwest Portland resident, says he was up late and didn't hear anything, but woke to find his rear window in pieces.

"Yeah, I hope somebody gets caught. I mean, $130 bucks out of my pocket for no reason," he says.

Portland and Lake Oswego police are working together on the case.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with a tip is asked to call 503-823-HELP.
