PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The principal of Grant High School released several details of the ongoing sex crimes investigation at the school in an interview with Oregon Public Broadcasting on Thursday.

Portland sex crimes detectives are investigating the hazing incident that allegedly happened between members of the junior varsity basketball team on Jan. 12.

Principal Vivian Orlen told OPB the hazing incident involved six players. Two of those players were identified as victims.

She said three of the teens responsible were reinstated, but one has been expelled from the school for the academic school year.

Orlen said school officials didn't learn about the hazing incident until one of the victims told his parents. The parents then notified the school.

She said the school conducted their own investigation and continues to council the children who were involved.

She did not give out the details of what exactly happened during the incident.

Portland sex crimes detectives said the event went beyond simple hazing.

The names of the children involved in the hazing will not be released because they are younger than 18.
