Longnose skate washes up in Seaside

SEASIDE, OR (KPTV) -

A strange fish is attracting attention in Seaside today.

Seaside Aquarium officials said they got a call this morning about a dead longnose skate found on the beach about three blocks north of the Seaside Turnaround.

Although these types of skates are not uncommon in the wild, they are an unusual find for beach combers, aquarium workers said.

Anyone who wants to see the skate or explore other parts of the beach is in luck this weekend - the weather should be perfect for beach combing.
