Oregon State Police arrested a man early Friday morning after a small group of demonstrators were caught dumping Christmas trees near the front security gate of the governor's mansion.
John Zatowksky was arrested for criminal mischief and offensive littering.
Oregon State Police say Zatowsky, 23, was part of a group that unloaded several dry Christmas trees outside Mahonia Hall. A trooper who was providing security at the mansion interrupted the group and arrested Zatowsky.
Investigators say the other members of the group fled in a van that carried the Christmas trees.
Zatowsky was transported to the Marion County Jail and was released after booking.
