Four people were hurt when a minivan crashed into the side of a school bus last night. Two were students aboard the bus, and the other two were the elderly occupants of the minivan.
Police say it happened at 8:48 p.m. east of Albany on Highway 20. The minivan, driven by Donna Perdue, 73, from Corvallis, was at a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 226 when she pulled out onto Highway 20 and collided with the bus. She and her husband, Donald Perdue, 86, were both seriously injured, and were transported to a Corvallis hospital.
The school bus from the Bandon School District was carrying about 20 people, most of whom were evaluated for injuries on the scene by Albany Fire Department personnel. Two of the students who received minor injuries were taken to a hospital in Lebanon for treatment.
Police say information about the students' school or their scheduled activity was not available for release.
