PIERCE COUNTY, WA -
Authorities in Pierce County, Washington have arrested a man accused of fighting deputies with an ax and stealing a patrol car.
Deputies were responding to a disturbance call Monday morning when they got into a fight with the man.
They say he tried to break into cars before using an ax to break into a patrol car.
Deputies chased the man for about two miles before he crashed.
"When he realized he couldn't get in, he still tried the handle. He asked me, 'please,' and I shook my head no," said Stephanie Beisler, the crash victim. "But he headed to the car behind me and was able to get the driver's door opened to get in the car with that lady."
Authorities had to use a Taser to subdue the man and take him into custody.
Deputies say it appears the man was on drugs.
