Victims identified in deadly Highway 211 crash near Molalla

Oregon State Police have identified two people killed in a crash on Highway 211 near Molalla.

Victoriano Garcia Morales, 54, and Laura Ascencio-Bautista, 42, both died Sunday after their pickup truck was hit by a tow truck. The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 211 and the Canby-Marquam Highway, between Molalla and Woodburn.

OSP troopers say both Morales and Ascencio-Bautista died at the scene. They were wearing seatbelts.

The tow truck driver, James K. Curt, 23, received minor injuries. He was driving for Baker & Baker Towing.

Investigators believe Morales failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection.
