CANBY, OR (KPTV) -
An Amtrak train hit and killed a man near Canby Tuesday night.
It happened at about 7 p.m. on the tracks near Northwest 1st Avenue and North Cedar Street.
Investigators say the unidentified man was a transient. Amtrak says the collision did not happen at a railroad crossing.
There were 35 passengers onboard the train and none of them were injured.
The train stopped after the crash, and Amtrak canceled the rest of the trip. The passengers were taken by bus to Eugene to catch another train to take them to their destination.
