A man who runs a Portland towing company is accused of stalking, beating and using a Taser on one of his employees.

Alex Shanks hit a female worker with a Taser and punched her in the head on Monday, police said. He's also accused of previously breaking her finger.

He made his first court appearance on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim told police the man is her boss at a North Portland tow truck company and stalks her at home, detectives said.

Shanks faces multiple charges including felony assault and coercion.
