Suspicious fire cancels classes at North Salem HS

SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A fire in a high school band room canceled classes for the day.

The fire, which authorities are calling suspicious, started at North Salem High School at about 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The sprinkler system put out the flames but also damaged items kept inside a storage area in the band room.

The school was evacuated and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
