CANBY, OR (KPTV) -

The pedestrian killed by an Amtrak train in Canby has been identified.

Canby police say 46-year-old Robert Lawrence Baker was the man struck by the southbound train last night. It is believed that the force of the impact knocked him 50 feet from the tracks and into a nearby field.

Investigators say that all warning signals at the intersection of N Elm Street and NW 1st Avenue, near where Baker was found, appear to have been operational at the time of the incident. A post mortem examination and blood toxicology report are still to be conducted by the Clackamas County medical examiner.

The public is invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service in memory of Baker located at the Bethany Evangelical Free Church on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at 11:00 a.m.
