ALBANY, OR (KPTV) -

Police have captured five people who they say brutally beat a young Albany man for no reason.

Zachary Mendoza and Josiah O'Malley both face several assault charges.

Police say two teenage boys and a girl also face charges in connection with this case.

Investigators say the group attacked Nick Raymond last month in front of south shore elementary.

He had planned to meet up with a friend but when she arrived she saw the attackers punching and kicking him.

The suspects eventually took off and Raymond crawled to a store to call his dad for help.

Albany Police Detectives are continuing with the investigation. Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact Albany Police Detectives at 541-917-7686.
