Trail Blazers Director of Medical Services Jay Jensen has been selected to serve as the head athletic trainer for the Western Conference during the 2012 NBA All-Star Game.
Jensen will be assisted by fellow Trail Blazers athletic trainer, Geoff Clark, during All-Star Weekend. In addition to the All-Star Game, Jensen and Clark will provide sports medicine coverage at Friday's BBVA Rising Stars Challenge and All-Star Saturday Night.
The athletic trainers from the Orlando Magic were selected as the Eastern Conference medical staff.
"It's always exciting and an honor to represent the Trail Blazers at All-Star Weekend," said Jensen. "It's going to be great to be there to watch LaMarcus Aldridge play in his first ever All-Star Game. It's also going to be fun to be working with the Western Conference coaching staff having served under Maurice Cheeks and having worked with Mark Bryant and Scott Brooks as players."
This is the second time Jensen has been selected as Head Athletic Trainer for the Western Conference at All-Star Weekend (1994, Minnesota). Jensen, both a certified athletic trainer and registered physical therapist, is in his 23rd NBA season and 18th with Portland.
