PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Police are looking for the man who stabbed another man with scissors in Old Town Wednesday morning, investigators said.

The stabbing happened just before 8:30 a.m. in the area of NW 5th Avenue and Everett Street.

The 49-year-old victim told officers that he had gotten into a confrontation with a man who frequents the area, detectives said.

The victim claimed that the man stabbed him once in the shoulder with a pair of scissors, police said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 30s, 6' tall with a skinny build. He also has dirty blonde hair and scruffy facial hair, police said.

At the time of the alleged attack he was wearing a black trench coat and walking a small black-and-white dog, investigators said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Portland Police Bureau.
