SILVERTON, OR (KPTV) -
Search crews found the body of a missing Silverton man Friday morning.
A car associated with Michael Dalton, 55, was found stuck in the mud Wednesday evening by a hiker on Crooked Finger Road east of Scotts Mills.
Dalton had been reported missing by his girlfriend because he didn't come home after operating a forklift in Salem.
He had been dealing with a terminal medical issue, deputies say, and hadn't been taking medications or keeping doctor appointments.
Dalton was found a short distance from where his car was discovered.
Deputies describe the area where his body was found as "very dense" and terraced as it sloped down into a ravine.
He was wearing the same clothing he wore when he was reported missing, and it appeared he was carrying a walking stick fashioned from a tree branch.
Deputies say there were no obvious signs of violence.
