PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Hundreds of uninsured and underinsured Oregonians gathered in downtown Portland on Sunday to take part in a free health screening fair.
OHSU student volunteers provided free medical and dental services.
Participants also received referrals to local clinics for follow-up appointments, as well as addiction and mental health treatment.
Volunteers welcomed the opportunity to reach out and help participants take a proactive approach to their own health.
Understanding the importance of companionship, the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine also offered exams, vaccination vouchers and pet care information.
