Judge: Bomb plot recordings must be turned over

Posted: Updated:
PORTLAND, OR (AP) -

A federal judge has issued broad rulings ordering the disclosure of evidence to the defense team of a 20-year-old Oregon terrorism suspect, but it's unclear what records, if any, his orders will produce.

At a hearing Tuesday, Judge Garr King also denied several other specific requests for evidence from the defense, including requests to see what documents were used to put Mohamed Mohamud on the federal no-fly list.

Mohamud is accused of attempting to detonate a car bomb at a 2010 Portland Christmas tree-lighting ceremony.

King said prosecutors must turn over recordings of all statements made by Mohamud, including electronic, telephone and recorded face-to-face conversations.

Prosecutors argued they've given the defense all the recordings relevant to Mohamud's defense and didn't say whether any others exist.
