CNNGo included three Oregon hotels in its list of the top "wacky" hotels in the United States.

The McMenamins Kennedy School in Portland came in at No. 8. CNNGo says the pub and former elementary school "works fabulously as a hotel." Its 35 rooms used to be classrooms. Plus, the auditorium is now a movie theater, and the old cafeteria was turned into a real restaurant.

The Heceta Head Lighthouse bed and breakfast, in Yachats, came in at 16th. The lighthouse and keeper's house date back to 1984, according to the bed and breakfast's website. The lighthouse itself still works and beams light about 21 miles out to sea. We're told it is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the U.S. Visitors stay in one of the six rooms in the keeper's house.

The Out'N'About Treehouses Treesort, in Takilma, ranked 17th. It features family-sized tree houses with beds, kitchenettes and bathrooms. There are 18 tree houses to choose from, and each one is different.

Wigmaw Village in Holbrook, AZ, placed first. The hotel is located off historic Route 66. The hotel rooms are shaped like large Native American teepees.
