HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -
A fire broke out early Thursday morning at a restaurant in Hillsboro, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.
The fire broke out at about 12:30 in the morning at the Dancing Dragon Chinese/American Restaurant on NE Cornell Road. Firefighters responded to the scene after seeing smoke pouring out of an air conditioning unit on the roof of the business. Smoke could also be seen through the windows.
Investigators are still trying to determine how the blaze started. Workers had just left for the night and no one was inside at the time.
Most of the flames were contained to the kitchen, but parts of the dining room were damaged by smoke. A preliminary investigation estimates that the accident caused $150,000 worth of damage.
Fire crews from the Hillsboro Fire Department and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue were able to control the fire in about 15 minutes. No one was injured.
