Water Bureau: Benson Bubbler bowl was stolen

Posted: Updated:
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Just as the weather is starting to heat up, somebody has stolen the brass bowl from a Benson Bubbler along the Eastbank Esplanade.

The Benson Bubbler is Portland's name for the public water fountains located in and around the downtown area.

The stolen bowl was adjacent to the Vera Katz statue near the Hawthorne Bridge.

On their web site, the Portland Water Bureau states it "regrets the inconvenience to bikers and walkers this weekend," because of the anticipated warmest weekend of the year thus far.

Anyone with information on its whereabouts is being asked to contact Portland Water Security at (503) 823-6084, or the Portland Police Bureau at (503) 823-3333.
