Freight train crashes into semi truck in NE Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A freight train, pulling a line of empty grain cars, struck a flatbed semitruck on Monday, Portland Police said.

It happened at about 10:45 am at NE 141st Ave and Sandy Blvd.

Preliminary investigation indicates the trailer portion of the semi got stuck on the tracks as the driver attempted to cross them, detectives told FOX 12.

The semitruck was hauling a mobile crane unit at the time.

The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.

No one on the train was hurt, police said.
