HERMISTON, OR (KPTV) -

The Umatilla County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a missing Hermiston woman.

A co-worker reported Melody Mickel, 26, missing under suspicious circumstances Friday after she left her job at Rite Aid.

Major Crimes investigators believe Alberto Martinez, 28, is a suspect in her disappearance. They say he took Mickel against her will and that she is in danger.

Mickel is described as a white female, 5'5" tall, 124 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Martinez, who authorities said has a history of kidnapping and is a registered sex offender, is described as a Hispanic male, 5'11" tall, 160 to 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. His car is a black 2006 Subaru Legacy four-door.

Anyone who sees Mickel or Martinez is asked to call 911 immediately.
