MCMINNVILLE, OR (KPTV) -

A mother and father whom police said were each stabbed multiple times by their adult son are expected to survive the assault.

McMinnville police officers were called to a home on Southwest Fellows Street on Friday around 8:30 p.m. They found Onorio Bravo Mojica, 55, and his wife, 49-year-old Tomasa Cruz Leal, each suffering from stab wounds.

Police said they identified the suspect in the stabbings as 29-year-old Martin Mojica Penaloza, who lived at the home with his parents.

After officers weren't able to find Mojica Penaloza in the area, they tracked him down at a relative's home nearby.

Mojica Penaloza now faces charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault, domestic menacing and unlawful use of a weapon.

Though Bravo Mojica's injuries were considered life-threatening, police said he's expected to survive. Cruz Leal will also survive, police said.

The motive for the stabbings is unknown at this time.
