PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Two local youngsters are being honored with a Portland tradition.

On Wednesday, Rose Festival organizers announced that Will and Allie Rosenfeld will serve as grand marshals in the Fred Meyer Junior Parade.

Instead of getting gifts for their bar and bat mitzvahs, Will and Allie asked family and friends to donate to the Providence Cancer Research Center.

The siblings managed to raise $65,000.

The Fred Meyer Junior Parade is the largest children's parade in the U.S., involving more than 10,000 youngsters. It has been an official Rose Festival event since 1936.

The parade will be broadcast live on Fox 12 on Wednesday, June 6 at 1 p.m.
