Columbia County, OR (KPTV) -
A man died after his pickup slid down a 75-foot embankment Monday afternoon.
Robert McKinney, 52, was going north on Hwy 30 between St. Helens and Columbia city when his truck, hauling a trailer, veered onto the shoulder and then down the embankment.
A firefighter saw the accident and called 911 right away. Rescue crews performed CPR on the driver en route to the hospital, where he died a short time later.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
