PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A pedestrian sprinting to catch a northbound MAX train was struck as a southbound train pulled into the Southeast Division Street station on Tuesday.
TriMet officials said the Green Line train operator sounded the horn, but the pedestrian continued to cross in front of the train before he was hit.
Transit police said the pedestrian was knocked underneath the train, but he was not pinned or run over in any way.
Paramedics took him to Oregon Health & Science University to be treated for a minor head injury.
MAX Green Line service was temporarily interrupted and shuttle buses served Green Line stops between the Gateway Transit Center and Clackamas Town Center until police clear the scene.
