White powder causes scare at Lloyd Center

Lloyd Center white powder scare

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

White powder found in a letter at the Lloyd Center mail room led Portland firefighters to isolate the room and monitor seven employees for any reactions.

After a thorough investigation, it was determined the substance was not harmful.

Portland firefighters and Hazmat crews first responded at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday.

Crews closed Halsey from 10th to 14th avenues as a precaution while they investigated.
