BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -
Walmart is getting ready to open a new store in Beaverton.
The Walmart Neighborhood Market is set to open Wednesday, May 30 at Northwest Cornell Road near 173rd.
The store will be the company's second Neighborhood Market in Oregon. A West Linn location will open May 25.
Walmart says the two stores created a total of 155 jobs in the Portland area.
The company says the new store will be tailored for the Beaverton community. It will feature locally grown organic produce and foods and a large wine selection.
Walmart is planning a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Beaverton location at 7:30 a.m. on May 30. They will open the store to the public following that ceremony.
Walmart says that opening day festivities will included product samplings, giveaways and various entertainment events.
