Sex offender sentenced to 50 years in prison

POLK COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Convicted sex offender Tommy Lee Mullings was sentenced to 50 years in prison in Polk County Court.

A jury convicted Mulling of 10 felony sex offenses, including sodomy and first-degree sex abuse in February. The incidents happened between 2003 and 2007. Prosecutors say he sexually abused three family members under the age of 12.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Jenn Gaddis said, "We are very pleased with the judge's sentence. Clearly, the judge agreed that defendant poses a significant threat to the community and sentenced him accordingly. This sentence will help keep children safe."
