SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police troopers arrested a protester Thursday morning after he climbed about 80 feet up a flag pole in front of the Oregon State Capitol building in Salem.

After about 90 minutes, Perry Graham voluntarily came down and was taken into custody, OSP said.

The 23-year-old Eugene man held a small banner during his time up the pole and left it there before coming down, investigators told FOX 12.

He was with about five other protesters associated with Cascadia Forest Defenders, police said.

Graham was taken to the Marion County Jail for disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and criminal mischief.

Police said they're making arrangements to rent equipment to remove the banner Graham left attached to the flag pole.
