MILLERSBURG, OR (KPTV) -
A crop duster experienced what Linn County deputies described as a "hard landing" near Millersburg today.
Deputies responded to a report that a small plane had crashed near Hoefer Road around 8:15 a.m.
An investigation into the matter revealed that one of the brakes on pilot Kent Wooldridge's plane failed when he applied them upon landing on his private runway. The plane then spun around, hit a shallow ditch and ended up nose-first into a blackberry patch.
There was damage to the propeller and wings, although the pilot was uninjured.
The FAA was notified according to regulations.
