PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Portland police responded to reports of shots being fired at Diddler's Beach in northeast Portland Monday night.
It happened at about 6:45 p.m. on the 4700 block of Northeast Marine Drive. A caller to 911 reported two groups of people in a fight.
Witnesses told dispatchers that someone involved in it all fired at least one shot during the confrontation. Police say there are no known gunshot victims at this point.
Officers say a car took off from the scene at a high rate of speed. Police got it stopped on North Bridgeton Road.
The driver stayed inside, but police say the passenger took off running.
The suspect was later found coming out of the Columbia River Slough.
Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody.
The gang enforcement team is investigating the case.
