Bomb hoax in Corvallis

CORVALLIS, OR (KPTV) -

Corvallis police are investigating a bomb hoax.

Workers at the Safeway gas station along Philomath Boulevard reported finding a suspicious-looking device Saturday morning.

Employees found it while opening the business.

Officers closed off the area and called the Oregon State Bomb Squad.

It determined the device was not an explosive.

Detectives are urging anyone with information about who planted the fake bomb to come forward.
