PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The owner of a southeast Portland coffee stand got a jolt of a different kind this morning after she was robbed at knife point.

At around 8:40 a.m. Portland police got a call from the owner of Java Jazz Espresso off of Southeast Woodstock Boulevard.

Owner Kathy Fisher said the man waited for her to unlock the door and go outside the cart, and that is when he made his move. He forced his way inside wielding a knife and demanded all of the money in the cash drawer. Fisher said he started waving the knife around and was threatening to kill her.

"He went like this at my throat when I backed up over here, and I said, ‘Well I can't back up any further,'" Fisher said to the robber. "There's the register at the other end. If you want the money, you will have to go to the other end of the shop."

Fisher told us she's been operating this coffee cart for 14 years and has never had an experience like this.

"They usually have a $100-$200 habit and he didn't get enough from me. It was an easy hit for him," Fisher said. "I'm guessing he could come back, but I'll be ready this time."

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 20s, 5'10", medium build, no facial hair, wearing blue jeans and a green hoodie.

If you have any information about who this man is, or where he might be, contact Portland police.
