Officers arrest one of Salem's 10 most wanted after standoff

SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Salem police arrested one of their 10 most wanted after a standoff that started Tuesday night.

Officers arrested Kevin Magness, 50, after that standoff at a home on 7th Avenue Northwest near McNary Avenue.

The standoff started at about 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

Police say Magness barricaded himself inside the home.

He was wanted on several Marion County felony warrants.

The SWAT team and crisis negotiators were called in to assist Marion County sheriff's deputies.

They were able to talk Magness into surrendering at about 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

He faces a long list of charges, including: kidnapping, robbery, theft, hit-and-run and possession of methamphetamine.
