Police killed in Woodburn bank bombing honored

WOODBURN, OR (KPTV) -

The two police officers killed in the Woodburn bank bombing are being honored.

A roadside memorial sign will be placed along the northbound lanes of I-5 just south of the exit for Woodburn.

Woodburn Police Captain Tom Tennant and Oregon State Police Senior Trooper William Hakim died when a bomb exploded at West Coast Bank in December 2008.

A public ceremony will be held next Tuesday at the Woodburn Police Department.

Bruce and Josh Turnidge are currently on Oregon's death row for the bombing.
