PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A woman who was struck by a semi while she rode her bike in downtown Portland on Wednesday night has died.
The collision happened just after 8:30 p.m. at Southwest Third Avenue and Madison Street.
Investigators say it appears the woman was traveling eastbound on Madison. The truck, meanwhile, was making a right turn from that street onto Third Avenue.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene after the crash. Officers called for the Portland police traffic division to conduct an investigation.
On Thursday morning, police announced the woman had died as a result of the injuries she suffered Wednesday night.
Traffic investigators are now working with the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office.
