TUALATIN, OR (KPTV) -
The Bridgeport Village mall space that once housed Borders book store will soon be the home of a Barnes and Noble.
Barnes and Noble is scheduled to open Nov. 1 at the outdoor mall in the Tualatin-Lake Oswego area.
When Borders went bankrupt in 2011, it shut down hundreds of stores, including the massive space across from Crate and Barrel at Bridgeport Village.
Kate Murphy, assistant general manager of Center Cal properties, said the mall heard from shoppers that they wanted a book store to return.
"Everybody is real pleased that we are having another bookstore," said Murphy, who expects an opening just in time for the holiday shopping season.
