MARION COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -
Divers are continuing to search a young boy who disappeared in the frigid waters of the Santiam River near the town of Gates Friday afternoon.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, five year old Anthony Barkley Berlin was with his father, Jacob Jay Allen, age 23, of Gates, and Eric Johnson, age 22, of Keizer, at Niagara County Park, which is about 40 miles east of Salem.
When Anthony fell in he was immediately swept away by the swift current. Johnson jumped in after him and also vanished. His body was found last night.
Emergency crews say the Santiam is running very fast right now and the water temperatures are in the 40s.
