BROOKS, OR (KPTV) -
A Canby man was killed in a single-car crash on Interstate 5 near Brooks early Saturday morning.
OSP troopers said David Forrest, 22, died when his car left the interstate, drove through a grassy area and hit a large tree.
It happened just after midnight Saturday at milepost 265 northbound, which is about seven miles north of Salem.
Forrest was pronounced dead at the scene.
OSP troopers were assisted by crews from the Marion County Fire District.
A chaplain from the Canby Police Department assisted with the next of kin notifications.
OSP troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
