Surveillance video shows moments before deadly crash

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Surveillance video captured a car flying down East Burnside Street in Portland moments before a deadly crash.

It happened just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, May 16 near NE 146th Avenue.

Police said video taken from a TriMet stop shows Shelby Lynn Williams nearly hitting another car.

Bright lights can be seen in the upper right corner of the screen after she allegedly lost control.

Officers said Williams was going 90 mph before she hit a telephone pole, a tree and a fence.

She died at the scene.

Her passenger, Cleveland Nelson, went to the hospital and is expected to be OK.
