Portland officer accused of sex crimes resigns

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A Portland police officer accused of sex crimes against children has resigned.

Scott Elliot was arrested at the end of March.

He's charged with sexual corruption of a child, luring a minor and encouraging child sex abuse.

Elliot made his first court appearance last month and had been on administrative leave without police powers.

He was a 22-year veteran of Portland Police Bureau and worked on the sex offender registration detail.
