CHICAGO (KPTV) -
United Airlines said it will no longer allow parents traveling with their children to board early if they are flying coach.
The airline made the change last month and joins a handful of other carriers, including American Airlines.
A United spokesperson told CNN that the airline believes the change will simplify the boarding process.
But, understandably, many parents are upset.
"I need a special stroller," Nishita Jariwala told Fox News. "If you have an infant less than 6 months then you also need to carry the car seat and then baby food and all kind of medications."
United Airlines still allows passengers with children traveling in first class or business class to board early.
So, the option for parents is to buy the higher-priced first class or business class tickets or participate in the airline's Mileage Plus Program.
