PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A former Oregon state librarian will be on probation for two years after admitting he forged his application for the job.

Robert Hulshof-Schmidt pleaded guilty to forgery charges today. He forged a transcript showing he had a master's degree in library science from the University of Washington when he didn't.

He got the job last October but resigned abruptly in December. Hulshof-Schmidt is not allowed to get a government job while on probation.
