CORNELIUS, OR (KPTV) -
A lightning strike triggered a fire at the top of a 100-foot-tall Douglas fir tree.
Cornelius firefighters responded to the scene on Southwest Firdale Road at around 8 p.m. Friday.
Firefighters said the lightning bolt split the giant Douglas fir all the way to its base.
Crews said the fire was too high to reach. So, firefighters made the call Friday night to let it burn and keep a close eye on it.
